Water test kits and strips are simple and practical water test tools for day-to-day water quality management, environmental monitoring, and water treatment optimization to understand and control water quality. They can be applied to the environmental monitoring of water quality of rivers, lakes, groundwater, and other environmental water. In water treatment factories, water test kits and strips can be used to monitor and adjust the treatment process and optimize the water treatment process.
Key parameters of water such as pH, chlorine, hardness, nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia can be tested simply and efficiently. These tests are based on a chemical reaction that produces a color change, allowing rapid qualitative or quantitative analysis of key water quality parameters in a sample by comparing color shades. pH tests use a pH indicator that changes color when it comes into contact with the water sample, depending on the acidity or alkalinity of the sample. Residual chlorine tests use a chemical reaction between chlorine ions and a reagent to produce a specific color compound. Hardness tests use a metal indicator that complexes with calcium and magnesium ions in the water to produce a specific color. The nitrate/nitrite test uses a reduction reaction to produce a coloring product, the shade of which is proportional to the concentration of nitrate/nitrite. Ammonia tests use an amino acid test reagent to react with the ammonia in the water sample to produce a blue color compound. The iron test utilizes a specific iron ion indicator that produces a specific color when it reacts with iron ions in the water sample.
