Two-dimensional (2D) cell culture in a plastic flasks or plates is easy, low time-consuming, low-cost technic and effortless to interpret. However, monolayer cell culture does not reflect the growth environment of cells in vivo. Three-dimensional (3D) cell culture is an innovative cell culture method that aims to overcome the limitations of 2D cell culture and will be refined, promising to replace expensive animal models for in vivo studies.
LifeGel for 3D cell culture is a ready-to-use plate containing protein-base hydrogel. Cells seeded on the surface of LifeGel can form 3D structures, like spheroids. All LifeGel products are available in 48-well and/or 96-well plate format with different standard cell media, including RPMI, DMEM-HG (Standard), DMEM-LG, DMEM/F-12, alpha-MEM, or PBS.
