Reverse phase chromatography (RPC) resins are important alternatives to silica-based RPC media because of their have unique selectivity, high capacity and wide pH stability range. Amerigo Scientific offers 3 types of polymeric RPC bulk media, UniPS®, UniPMN, and UniPMM. All of them are monodispersed, rigid divinylbenzene or methacrylic copolymer beads using proprietary precision microsphere technologies, designed for high-resolution and high-capacity purification of a wide range of substances, from natural products, peptides, oligonucleotides to large proteins.
UniPS®, UniPSN, and UniPMM resins have been mainly applied in preparative RPC purification of peptides, oligonucleotides, proteins, and natural products, while UniPS® products of small particle sizes (especially non-porous resins) have been used as analytical chromatography media. These high-performance chromatography media can also be used as reverse phase solid phase extraction (SPE) sorbents. Because of their superior pH stability and unique selectivity, these polymeric RPC products are especially suitable for purification with high pH requirements.

Conventional organic polymeric RPC matrix, such as poly(styrene-divinylbenzene), can provide different selection from that of silica-based RPC media, especially in the separation of biomolecules. In addition to high performance polystyrene (styrene-diethylbenzene) media known as UniPS®, Amerigo Scientific offers a range of polymer matrix with increased polarity, including UniPSN and UniPMM. The higher polarity makes them different from conventional polystyrene-divinylbenzene and become another option of especial separation selectivity to remove the impurity.
Due to the uniform size and perfectly spherical shape nature of UniPS®, UniPSN and UniPMM reverse phase media, they generally provide better column efficiency and better RPC resolution than conventional polymer RPC media. And the pore size distribution of UniPS®, UniPSN and UniPMM is optimized so that they have high load capacity.
UniPS®, UniPSN, and UniPMM RPC media exhibit excellent chemical and pH stability. pH stability of UniPS® media is especially superior because they are based on poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) with inherently unreactive property and the entire pH range of 1 to 14. The chemical and pH stability gives the polymeric RPC media unparalleled flexibility in operating conditions and cleaning procedures, as well as superior lifetime.
The quality control examination of each batch of RPC media products includes measurement of particle size, size distribution, pore size and surface area, as well as performance tests of model protein retention time, resolution, loading capacity, etc.
