MagTouch 2000 Nucleic Acids Extraction Automation System can be utilized to extract cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from various volumes of plasma samples. Circulating cfDNA is non-encapsulated form of double-stranded DNA with an average size of 150 to 180 bp, likely derived from apoptosis, necrosis, and to a lesser extent, active secretion. cfDNA has a lifespan of less than 2 hours before being filtered eliminated from the bloodstream by the spleen, liver, and kidneys. In healthy individuals, cfDNA is mainly derived from apoptotic cells, and the lengths of the DNA fragments are usually around 185 to 200 bp. In cancer tissue, the size of cfDNA is highly variable because, in addition to apoptosis, necrosis and autophagy are causes of cancer cell death. In this case, the DNA fragments can reach 450 to 500 bp.

The installation location should be well ventilated, away from electromagnetic interference and heat sources. The vent on this instrument is designed for ventilation, so do not cover to prevent overheating.
