Weight Calibration

Accurate weighing data is crucial for ensuring reliable results, process compliance, and product quality in numerous applications, including laboratory analysis, pharmaceutical production, quality control, and metrology verification. As the core reference standard in weighing systems, weights must be highly accurate and traceable to provide a reliable calibration basis for balances, sensors, and automatic weighing equipment.

However, over time and with increased use, weights can deviate from their nominal values due to dust, corrosion, mechanical damage, or environmental changes. Therefore, regular weight calibration is necessary to comply with regulatory requirements, and is fundamental to ensuring the continued accuracy of weighing systems and preventing data deviations and quality risks.

Importance of Weight Calibration

  • Ensuring accurate and repeatable weighing results
  • Meeting quality management and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Ensuring traceability throughout the measurement chain
  • Reducing the risk of potential product quality or research deviations
  • Extending the lifespan of weighing equipment

General Weight Calibration Process

The general weight calibration process starts with receiving and registering the weights, noting key details such as number, grade, nominal value, condition, and requested certificate type. After cleaning and inspecting for damage or unclear markings, the weights are stabilized in a controlled temperature and humidity environment for 12–24 hours. Calibration is performed using an ISO 17025-compliant reference balance, with deviations calculated and "As Found/As Left" data recorded. A calibration certificate is then issued, including measurement results, deviations, uncertainty, and environmental conditions, before securely packaging and returning the weights to the customer.

Calibration Services

Whether meeting fundamental metrological requirements in laboratory settings, or ensuring regulatory compliance in high-precision testing environments, precise weight calibration service is the critical foundation. Amerigo Scientific provides three types of differentiated service to comprehensively address all your calibration needs. Select the optimal calibration solution based on your industry sector, precision requirements, and geographic coverage needs, ensuring your measurement data remains consistently reliable.

Amerigo Scientific offers industry-compliant weight calibration services, ranging from microgram-level analytical weights to kilogram-level mass reference weights. All calibrations are performed in ISO/IEC 17025 laboratories, ensuring traceability to NIST, OIML, and ASTM standards.

Routine Weight Calibration Services
