  • Water, where the original organisms come, is the essential constituent of lives on the earth. Safe drinking water is vital to humans and animals. However, the global water supply is currently at risk due to a global population boom, regional droughts, and massive discharges of contaminants into natural water. In both developing and industrialized countries, groundwater or surface water resources around the world are increasingly contaminated by pollutants resulting from human activities, such as traditional natural organic matters (NOM), heavy metal ions from the mining industry, anions from the fertilizer industry, boron, surfactants, pharmaceuticals, and dyes. Therefore, many water providers must implement additional treatment or decontamination prior to distribution. Ion exchange resins are widely used in water treatment to remove various pollutants due to their advantages of high capacity, low cost and energy consumption, easy implementation, reversible regeneration, and high stability of organic polymers.

    Resin Products

    Amerigo Scientific provides ion exchange resins including SEPLITE® LSF983 series and non-solvent resins to improve the taste and purity of drinking water.

    SEPLITE®LSF983 resins are food grade polyacrylic macroporous weak acid cation resins. They are characterized by low swelling and high selectivity for divalent cations such as Pb, Cd, Cu, Co, Ni. In addition, due to their polyacrylic matrix, the resins have good wear resistance and are very stable to commonly used chemicals.

    SEPLITE® SC130NS reins and SEPLITE® LSF978 resins are high purity strong acid cation resins without solvent. Their excellent mechanical strength and good ion exchange kinetics make them good general-purpose resins for water softening, demineralization, and dealkalization.
