The 5D of Sphericalplate 5D, the fifth dimension, can be defined as the communication between cells: the critically determined shape and size of microwells create an environment as physiological as possible. In addition, a special nano-coating prevents cells from attaching to the surface. This results in the formation of uniform spheroids with an undisturbed communication of the cells with each other, preventing wrong signals that would induce unwanted gene expression/differentiation.

The SP5D allows the generation of uniform, size controlled cell clusters required for a wide variety of research and diagnostic applications, supporting the transition from bench to bedside, including scalable, reliable and safe cell therapy applications. The SP5D features round-bottomed microwells and is covered with a high-end ultra-low attachment coating to achieve perfect cell aggregation. 3D cell culture protocols using the SP5D are highly scalable, as a single plate can hold up 9000 spheres. Scalable solutions on the market do not meet the quality criteria required for safe clinical use, so our SP5D fills this gap.
