Clinical Swabs and Samplers
Clinical swabs and samplers are sterile devices used to collect specimens for medical testing and diagnosis. They are important tools for efficient and comfortable sample collection. For meeting the different needs, we offer individual disposable swabs, disposable samplers, and sampling kits containing transportation media in a variety of specifications. All our clinical swabs and samplers are supplied sterile in individual peelable pouches. Amerigo Scientific offers clinical sampler products to ensure effective sample collection and accurate results.
Specimen Collection Swabs
Nasopharyngeal swabs are the most common and convenient samplers for clinical applications. Nasopharyngeal swabs with long and flexible rods can reach into the upper respiratory tract to collect nasal and throat samples. Oropharyngeal swabs allow access to the mouth and tonsils. Ultra-soft nylon fiber tips of swabs are for comfortable use. In addition, with nylon-flocked swabs, sample collection with flexibility and capillary action can be achieved to maximize fluid and cellular absorption, ensuring that they can collect more samples at the collection site and release the entire sample faster.
Disposable Sampler Kits
We also offer a number of sampler kits that contain swabs, transport media, tubes, and labels.
Disposable Sampler (without transport media): This product makes your sampling process easier and reduces contamination. Meanwhile, this product with flexible applications can be selected and configured according to different sampling needs and sample types.
Disposable sampler (saline transport medium): Saline medium is non-toxic, safe, and effective. It can be used for the collection, storage, and transportation of viruses, chlamydiae, mycoplasma, and ureaplasma. Collected samples can be stored at room temperature for 48 hours.
Disposable Sampler (UTM): Universal transport medium (UTM) can be used for the collection, storage, and transportation of viruses, bacteria, chlamydiae, mycoplasma, and ureaplasma. Specimens transported in the Universal Transport Media can be used in the laboratory for pathogen isolation and detection. Samples that are inoculated or isolated within 48 hours can be stored at 4°C, while samples that cannot be inoculated or isolated within 48 hours should be stored at -70°C.
Disposable Sampler (ITM): Inactivated Transport Medium (ITM) can inactivate the virus and prevent nucleic acid degradation. The collected samples can be stored at room temperature for 20 days. This product can be used for the collection, storage, and transportation of viruses, chlamydiae, mycoplasma, and ureaplasma.
Disposable Sampler (ATM): The antibiotics and other ingredients in the formulation of AMIES transport medium (ATM) inhibit bacterial proliferation and growth, thereby maintaining the original number and characteristics of the microorganisms in the sample. This product can be used for the collection and transportation of aerobic, anaerobic, and fastidious bacteria.
Disposable Sampler (VTM): This product is used for the collection, storage, and transportation of human nasopharyngeal virus samples. Unused Viral transport medium (VTM) can be transported at room temperature, while collected samples can be stored at 2 to 4°C for 48h.
Saliva Collection Kit: This product is used to collect high-quality DNA/RNA samples from saliva and the collection process is painless and does not cause any harm or discomfort. In addition, this kit contains 2 mL of ITM to ensure the integrity of viral nucleic acids.
