  • AQuora® Dyes

AQuora® dyes feature a hydrophilic PEG coating, which enables high water solubility, high labeling degree, and prevents non-specific interactions and self-quenching of the resulting conjugate. Therefore, AQuora® dyes are highly suitable for complex applications requiring maximum signal strength and minimal background interference. The dyes are available as NHS ester and maleimide forms, and custom reactive groups can be provided upon request.

    • Conjugated with PEG spacers, AQuora® dyes have the characteristics of increased solubility, decreased non-specific binding, enabling an extremely high labeling degree (DOL) and achieving very low background.
    • AQuora® dyes yield enhanced signal and signal-to-noise ratios in fluorescence-based applications, including fluorescent western blotting, fluorescence-based microscopy, flow cytometry, and cell-based assays.
    • AQuora® NHS Ester dyes are amine-reactive dyes that can be conjugated to many proteins or peptides. The NHS ester reacts with primary amines to form a stable, covalent amide bond.
    • AQuora® Maleimide dyes can be conjugated to many proteins or peptides through cysteine thiol groups. The maleimide group reacts with thiols to form thioether bonds.

Both NHS Ester reagents and Maleimide reagents are moisture-sensitive, and the dyes are light- and oxygen-sensitive. Therefore, the AQuora® dyes must be protected from exposure to light and should be blanketed with dry, inert gas, such as nitrogen or argon, whenever they are open or in use.
