Amerigo Scientific offers MagPurix series of fully automated sample preparation system for the fast, high-purity, high-yield purification of nucleic acids from a wide range of sample types. The features of MagPurix instruments include a compact, user friendly and intuitive interface, pre-loaded protocols with free upgrades, and a full kits and samples traceability system with end-run complete report in compliance with 21 CFR part 11 regulation. Using our MagPurix instrument can simplify sample preparation to minimize hands-on time, processing errors, and purification variability.
MagPurix utilizes the advanced magnetic bead-based nucleic acid extraction technology to achieve true automation of nucleic acid purification from sample to result. The purification process of MagPurix consisted of lysis, binding, washing, and elution steps. The patented liquid handling system of MagPurix ensures better purification efficiency of lysis and elution, and minimizes the residues of magnetic beads and alcohol in the final eluted product.

When using MagPurix 12/24 EVO, the user logs in with ID, and scans the barcode on the sample tube, cartridge, and elution tube. The built-in camera automatically monitors the nucleic acid extraction process. The system can records all the information of the whole process. Log files that help to complete the traceability functionality can be easily exported to the SD card.

DNA was extracted from whole blood containing different anticoagulants or under different storage conditions using the MagPurix Blood DNA Extraction Kit 200. The results of β-globin DNA (Fig.A) and spiked parvovirus B-19 DNA (Fig.A&B) detection by real-time qPCR showed that the samples were not significantly affected by different anticoagulants and storage conditions.

DNA was isolated from 20 whole blood samples using the MagPurix Blood DNA Extraction kit. The results of β-globin gene detection by real-time qPCR showed that the MagPurix 12 EVO nucleic acid purification system was extremely stable and reproducible.

Serial diluted human parvovirus B19 (range of 250-2.5 million IU/ml) were added to whole blood. 200ml sample was extracted and eluted in 100ml. The 10ml eluate was detected by real-time PCR and the results showed that 5 IU spiked sample (approximately 1 IU in the PCR reaction) was detected, thus demonstrating the sensitivity and linearity of the MagPurix system for isolating nucleic acids.

200µl of serum sample containing serial dilutions of hepatitis B virus (range 300,000 to 30 IU/ml) was extracted and eluted in 100µl. The sensitivity and linearity of the separation method were demonstrated by the detection of 30µl of the eluate using real-time PCR, which detected less than 6 IU spiked (approximately 1 IU in the PCR reaction) sample.
