  • Amerigo Scientific offers a wide range of reversed phase silica gels for column chromatography based on monodisperse UniSil® media. Besides varied bonding phases, UniSil® media through surface modifications are developed into different series of reverse phased chromatography (RPC) silica media products, inculuding UniSil® Ultra, UniSil® Ultra Plus, UniSil® C18 AQ, Uni® Insulin C8, UniSil® PBM, and UniSil®PTZ. Among them, UniSil® Ultra and UniSil® Ultra Plus are media of higher pH tolerance. While UniSil® media’ work pH range is up to 8, the pH range of UniSil® Ultra and UniSil® Ultra Plus is extended to 10 and 12, respectively, significantly increasing the lifetime of their performance.

    UniSil® Ultra Reversed Phase

    UniSil® Ultra is a specially modified UniSil® silica matrix. Such modification improves reversed phase bonding, resulting in increased alkaline resistance (pH 2-10) and reduce peak tailing issue.

    UniSil® Ultra Plus Reversed Phase

    UniSil® Ultra Plus is based on monodispersed silica gel that is surface-treated using proprietary chemistry before the reverse phase surface bonding. UniSil® Ultra Plus reversed phase products with this special pre-bonding surface treatment are chemically stable, operate in a wide pH range (pH 2-12), and extend column lifetime.

    UniSil® C18 AQ

    UniSil® C18 AQ is a unique product line of reversed phase chromatography media, which has both a high carbon loading of hydrophobic alkyl groups (C18) and a relatively hydrophilic surface. The special surface chemistry is designed to allow the hydrophobic phase to remain “wetted” in highly aqueous mobile phases, thereby preventing “phase collapse”. Thus, they provide reproducible retention and excellent peak shape in highly aqueous eluents even 100% water. In addition, because the alkyl phase remains fully accessible in highly aqueous eluents, they provide stronger retention for polar compounds than conventional C18 stationary phase. UniSil® C18 AQ products enhance the separation efficiency of highly polar compounds such as peptides, proteins and nucleotides.

    Uni® Insulin C8

    Uni® Insulin C8 is developed from monodispersed UniSil® Ultra Plus media using proprietary end-capping and bonding technologies for separation and purification of insulins. The products feature high mechanic strength, good resolution, high recovery, and excellent alkalic resistance (pH 2-12).

    UniSil® PBM and UniSil®PTZ

    Because C60 and C70 have similar physical and chemical properties, separating C60 and C70 from fullerene mixtures is a very challenging task. UniSil® PBM and UniSil® PTZ are two reversed phase silica media specifically designed for the separation of fullerenes, with benefits that include:

    • Monodispersed uniformed spherical silica matrix (5μm, 10μm) and unique bonding technology resulting in good specific surface area and binding capacity
    • Excellent selectivity
