Power industry, which generates electricity, consumes very large amounts of water. In this industry, the water supplied to cooling towers and boilers needs to be treated. Boiler feed should be high quality water. Because the quality of the feed water directly affects the steam quality, proper water treatment can ensure the high efficiency of the boiler. The water treatment processes include removing almost all dissolved solids, controlling alkalinity and conductivity, preventing scaling, and correcting pH. For cooling towers, water should be added periodically to offset the water loss due to evaporation, drift, and blowdown. The most common sources for cooling tower are surface water, well water, and seawater. However, the common water sources are dwindling, so power plants use municipal wastewater that requires more advanced treatment. The use of treated water minimizes cooling tower maintenance.
Amerigo Scientific provides Monojet™ resins produced using proprietary jetting technology, including a variety of ion exchange resins and nuclear grade resins for water treatment in the power generation industry. Due to their uniform particle size, Monojet™ resins have excellent hydraulic and dynamic properties with rapid exchange capacity, which is beneficial for improving water quality. In addition, the operating velocity and pressure drop of systems can be improved by using Monojet™ resins.

Monojet™ Reins for Condensate Polishing
Condensate polishing is generally used to treat condensate steam from turbines operating in the power industry, as well as to treat condensate steam from any steam system returning to the boiler. Amerigo Scientific provides Monojet™ resins with excellent surface area and dynamic properties that are suitable for condensate polishing.
