Fine chemicals are single, pure chemicals that are produced in limited quantities through a multistep batch chemical or biological processes. Fine chemicals are frequently used as important and valuable ingredients and intermediates for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and other specialty chemicals. Fine chemicals include alkane, alkene and alkyne derivatives, aromatic compounds, amino acids and derivatives, steroids, alkaloids, etc. They are divided into two classes in terms of molecular weight. Low-molecular-weight (LMW) fine chemicals, also known as small molecules, are produced by traditional chemical synthesis, by microorganisms or by extraction from plants and animals, while high-molecular-weight (HMW) fine chemicals are obtained mainly through biotechnology processes.

Fine chemicals are widely applied in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, electronics, automobiles, cosmetics, construction, and other industries. Fine chemicals manufacturing must be closely monitored for adherence to customer and regulatory specifications, and key characteristics to monitor typically include molecular structure, potential contaminants, and chemical properties. Amerigo Scientific offers extensive range of fine chemicals such as nitrogen heterocycles, oxygen and sulfur heterocycles, phenols, benzyl alcohols, phenylacetic and phenylpropionic acids, amino acids and derivatives, cinnamic acids, phospholipids, dyes and stains, and catalysts.
