Icaritin is a hydrolytic product of icariin, and one of the bioactive components of the epimedium genus. It has gained interest mainly from its anticancer activity, including its ability to slow the growth of cancer cells and induce apoptosis. Icaritin has also shown neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory activity.
