pAAVdual-hRHO-EGFP is used to produce AAV-hRHO-EGFP virus using novel AAVdual production system. In this plasmid, the regular single strand AAV genome with a hRHO promoter and an EGFP reporter is cloned into our novel Ad helper plasmid, mini-pHelper. AAV-hRHO-EGFP viruses can be generated by co-transfection of this plasmid with regular AAV helper (pRCap) plasmids, carrying AAV2 rep gene and different cap genes, without adding additional Ad helper plasmid to supply E2A, E4orf6 and VA RNA functions.
The hRHO promoter refers to the promoter region of the human Rhodopsin (RHO) gene, which is crucial for the expression of rhodopsin, a light-sensitive receptor protein found in the rod photoreceptor cells of the retina. Rhodopsin plays a key role in the phototransduction pathway, which is the process by which light is converted into electrical signals in the eye, enabling vision in low-light conditions. Please contact us at for specific academic pricing.
