pAAVdual-SP-B-EGFP is used to produce AAV-SP-B-EGFP virus using novel AAVdual production system. In this plasmid, the regular single strand AAV genome with a SP-B promoter and an EGFP reporter is cloned into our novel Ad helper plasmid, mini-pHelper. AAV-SP-B-EGFP viruses can be generated by co-transfection of this plasmid with regular AAV helper (pRCap) plasmids, carrying AAV2 rep gene and different cap genes, without adding additional Ad helper plasmid to supply E2A, E4orf6 and VA RNA functions.
The SP-B promoter is a regulatory DNA sequence that controls the expression of the Surfactant Protein B (SP-B) gene. SP-B is a crucial component of pulmonary surfactant, a substance that reduces surface tension in the lungs and is essential for normal respiratory function. The SP-B promoter is highly specific to lung epithelial cells, particularly the alveolar type II cells and bronchiolar epithelial cells, where surfactant proteins are produced. Please contact us at for specific academic pricing.
