Reacts specific with the medium component of the three subunits of neurofilaments. Inimmunoblots it reacts with the 160 kD protein. Neurofilaments, the intermediate filaments ofneurons, are composed of three polypeptides with a molecule weight of respectively, 70, 160 and 200kD. The three polypeptides can be differentially expressed during neuronal development, or in adultbrain tissue. Antibodies directed against the three different neurofilament proteins can be animportant aid in studying neurofilament expression pattern and in testing of tumours.Immunogen: Neurofilament preparation isolated from calf brain tissue
