      • Overview
        • Snap frozen mouse paw, spleen, and serum from DBA/1 mice at well-defined stages and severity of CIA. Choose paws from our inventory based on CIA score history, disease stage, gender, or antigen used for CIA induction. Shipped frozen on dry ice.

Analyze gene expression, protein presence, and biomarkers in CIA tissue without a vivarium
Save time establishing & running CIA models; most tissue products are available from stock with no lead time.

Choose individual mice from our inventory based on CIA severity
Full CIA score history provided for each sample.

Tissue from control and naïve mice available for comparison
Control tissues are matched for immunization method and timing.

          Availability
Samples from DBA/1-F mice at 24–48 hours after CIA onset: hind paw, spleen, and serum.
Samples from DBA/1-M mice at 24–48 hours after CIA onset: hind paw, spleen, and serum.
Samples from DBA/1-F mice at 4–5 days after CIA onset: hind paw, spleen, and serum.
Samples from DBA/1-M mice at 4–5 days after CIA onset: hind paw, spleen, and serum.
Samples from DBA/1-F mice at 2–3 weeks after CIA onset: hind paw, spleen, and serum.
Samples from DBA/1-M mice at 2–3 weeks after CIA onset: hind paw, spleen, and serum.

          Preparation
Male or female DBA/1 mice 8 to 12 weeks of age are acclimated to our facility for at least 7 days.

CIA is induced according to the protocol CIA Induction in DBA/1 Mice.

Each paw is scored daily for CIA severity on the scale of 0-4 (see protocol) until disease onset, and then every other day. Total score for each mouse is calculated as the sum of scores for all 4 paws (0-16).

Mice are euthanized at the appropriate stage of disease. Immediately, blood is collected for serum, hind paws and spleen are collected and snap frozen in liquid nitrogen. Serum is isolated and frozen at -80 °C.

Tissues are stored at -80 °C until shipment.

      • Properties
        • Other Properties
One hind paw, frozen in a 1.5 mL cryogenic tube. Typical CIA paw weight: 100–400 mg. Typical control or naïve paw weight: 100–150 mg.
Half a spleen, frozen in a 1.5 mL cryogenic tube. Typical weight: 40–80 mg.
100 µL serum, frozen in a 1.5 mL cryogenic tube.
One spreadsheet (via email) with CIA score history for all 4 paws.
Each product unit contains tissue and serum from a single mouse. Spleens and serum are divided and packaged with a single paw because paws of the same mouse can have different arthritis severity.
Tubes are marked with a mouse ID, paw ID (left or right hind paw), and weight of paw or spleen tissue.
Normally, customers order tissue samples based on CIA score history.
          Storage
Keep frozen until use. Storage at -80 °C is recommended.
