pAAVone-AAV2-CMV-mCherry is a plasmid used to produce AAV2-CMV-mCherry using novel AAVone production system. It integrates all the AAV production necessary components, including Ad helper genes (E2A, E4orf6 and VA RNA), AAV helper genes (Rep and AAV2 Cap), and a single-strand AAV-CMV-mCherry genome. AAV2-CMV-mCherry viruses can be simply and efficiently produced by transfection of this single-into host cells, such us HEK 293 and HEK 293T. AAV2 is one of the most well-studied and widely used serotypes of adeno-associated virus. It has been a workhorse for gene therapy research due to its well-characterized biology and its ability to transduce a broad range of tissues, including the central nervous system (CNS), liver, and retina. AAV2 was the first AAV serotype to be cloned and is often used as a reference or baseline for comparing other AAV serotypes.
