Nickel-Iron (Ni/Fe) alloys, also known as permalloy, typically in an 80/20 ratio, are used for their excellent magnetic properties, including high permeability and low coercivity. They are essential in magnetic storage, transformers, and inductors. Thin films of Ni/Fe can be deposited using sputtering, creating high-performance magnetic layers for various electronic and magnetic applications.
