ER-Tracker probes are a series of probes that are cell membrane permeable and highly selective for the endoplasmic reticulum of living cells. Unlike traditional DiOC6(3), this series of probes hardly stain mitochondria, can stain the endoplasmic reticulum at lower concentrations, and are almost non-toxic to cells. The following optimization steps are used to stain living cells and then fix them with aldehydes to partially retain the staining characteristics of living cells.
This product is a red fluorescent dye BODIPY® TR coupled with Glibenclamide, with Ex= 587 nm and Em= 615 nm. Glibenclamide (glyburide), a commonly used hypoglycemic drug, has important scientific research uses in the study of pancreatic β cells, insulin secretion, myocardial failure cell function, and arrhythmia. Glibenclamide highly binds to the sulfonylurea receptor of the ATP-sensitive K+ channel, and this receptor is enriched on the endoplasmic reticulum, so it is suitable for use as an endoplasmic reticulum fluorescent probe.
This product is a 1 mM MER-Tracker Red (BODIPY® TR Glibenclamide) stock solution in DMSO. The recommended working concentration is ~1 μM.Please contact us at for specific academic pricing.
