BcMag™ Protein L Magnetic Beads are silica-based superparamagnetic beads covalently conjugated with recombinant protein L (Purity: >95%) on the surface. Unlike protein A, protein G or protein A/G, protein L binds kappa light chains (i.e., k chain of the VL domain) instead of Fc region (i.e., heavy chain) of immunoglobulins. Therefore, protein L beads not only bind IgG, but also other classes of Ig including IgM, IgA, IgE and IgD, and single chain variable fragments (ScFv) and Fab fragments. The beads are specifically designed, tested and quality controlled for use in immunoprecipitation and cell sorting when a selected primary antibody is used. The beads are also widely used for quick and efficient one-step purification of IgG of several species from serum samples, ascites fluid, plasma or tissue culture supernatants.
• Quick, Easy and one-step high-throughput procedure; eliminates columns or filters, or laborious repeat of pipetting or centrifugation
• Binds IgG, IgM, IgA, IgE and IgD
• Binds single-chain variable fragments (ScFv)
• Not bind bovine, goat or sheep Igs
• Ultra low non-specific binding thanks to the beads' hydrophilic surface
• High binding capacity
• Scalable - easily adjusts for sample size and automation
• Low costPlease contact us at for specific academic pricing.
