Conventional C18 chromatographic columns are prone to carbon chain collapse in high-percentage aqueous phases, severely affecting separation efficiency. APUSIL™ C18B, with its special surface modification, enables excellent separation of polar compounds that exhibit weak or no retention on conventional C18 packing. It also demonstrates excellent chemical stability in high-percentage aqueous phases and even pure water, allowing for long-term use in pure aqueous phases.

Background
APUSIL™ HPLC columns are packed with spherical silica gel as the matrix, bonded with ligands such as C4/C8/C18/CN/Phenyl/Diol. They feature low metal ion content (<20 PPM), high specific surface area, and good mechanical strength. Thanks to its unique chemical bonding technology, APUSIL™ columns exhibit excellent bonding and sealing stability, meeting the high requirements of analytical and preparative applications.
Features of Silica Gel Columns
• Low silanol activity
• Uniform bonding
• Low metal content
• Narrow particle size distribution
• Good stability
