Reacts specific with the heavy component of the three subunits of neurofilaments. Inimmunoblots it reacts with the 200 kD protein. Neurofilaments, the interme-diate filaments of neurons, are composed of three polypeptides with a molecule weight of respectively, 70, 160 and 200 kD. Thethree polypeptides can be differentially expressed during neuronal development, or in adult braintissue. Antibodies directed against the three different neurofilament proteins can be an important aidin studying neurofilament expression pattern and in testing of tumours.Immunogen: Neurofilament preparation isolated from calf brain tissue
