Williams E With L-Glutamine is a Classic Basic Medium. William's E medium is a nutrient medium designed by William and Gunn for the long-term culture of rat liver epithelial cells and other mammalian liver cells. To compensate for the lack of L-glutamine, a nutrient element necessary for cell culture, fresh L-glutamine or its substitute can be added to the medium as needed. This medium contains a variety of amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts, and other components, but does not include proteins, lipids, or growth factors so it is recommended to be used in combination with serum or serum-free additives.
