Background
Sugammadex Sodium acts as a reversal agent for neuromuscular blocking agents (rocuronium and vecuronium). It forms a complex with the blocking agent, and reduces the amount of blocking agent available to bind to nicotinic cholinergic receptors in the neuromuscular junction. This compound is biologically inactive and does not bind to plasma proteins, and has no effect on human receptors.
