    SHBG141-161 is a peptide corresponding to amino acids 141-161 of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), the loop region of SHBG connecting ?-strands 11 and 12. SHBG141-161 is an agonist of the class C orphan G protein coupled receptor GPRC6A, a major regulator of energy metabolism and male fertility, and SHBG141-161 competes for binding to it with its endogenous ligand undercarboxylated osteocalcin (ucOCN). In vitro, SHBG141-161 stimulates insulin secretion from ?-cells and also the production and release of testosterone from Leydig and Langerhans ?-cells cell lines.
