Seplife® EMC7120M is a highly cross-linked amino acrylate carrier, functionalized with a long spacer (C6) and that has the appearance of white spherical beads. The particle size distribution is 300-700 micron. The resin is highly hydrophilic and has a porous structure combined with a very high surface area which is ideal for immobilization of enzymes. Amino resins require pre-activation with glutaraldehyde and then aldehyde groups form multipoint covalent binding between the enzyme and resin. All amino acrylate resins are designed to form very stable covalent linkages with different protein groups (amino, thiol, phenolic) via Schiff base in very mild experimental conditions of pH and temperature. Amino acrylates can be used in either stirred tank or bed reactor.
The high cross-linking of the resin ensures extremely high mechanical stability thus allowing the possibility to recycle the immobilized enzyme for many cycles.
