Platelet-derived growth factor beta (PDGFB) is a member of PDGF family. PDGFB can form disulfide-linked homodimer or heterodimer with PDGFA. PDGF proteins mediate diverse cellular functions by binding to and inducing the homo- or hetero-dimerization of two receptors (PDGF R alpha and R beta). PDGFB is essential for cardiovascular development. The administration of PDGFB normalized tumor vasculature by increasing periendothelial coverage and vascular functionality. This effect exerted by PDGFB was also observed in the presence of DAPT. Therefore, PDGFB is able to improve tumor vascularity and allows the anticancer action of DAPT in the tumor.
