Potassium Clavulanate is a beta-lactamase inhibitor and an antibacterial agent. The molecule binds to the active site of beta-lactamases and prevents the breaking down of beta-lactam antibiotics within the bacterial cell wall. It is also used as a spectrophotometric technique to measure UV absorbance at 275–350 nm.
