N-Oleoyl-D-sphingosine (Cer(d18:1/18:1(9Z) or Cer d36:2) is a long-chain ceramide that is classed as a sphingolipid and is functionally involved in humans in the biosynthesis of glycosphingolipids and gangliosides. Its U-13C18 compound is used as standard in MS-based, qualitative and/or quantitative experiments.
