Predicted MW: Monomer, 9.6 kDa (89 aa). Resistin-like molecule-alpha (RELM-alpha) is a member of the RELM family of secreted proteins containing conserved C-terminus cysteines. The RELM family consists of Resistin (FIZZ3), RELM-alpha (FIZZ1), RELM-beta (FIZZ2), and RELM-gamma (FIZZ4). RELM-alpha and Resistin are secreted by adipocytes, unlike RELM-beta which is secreted by gastrointestinal epithelial cells, and RELM-gamma which is expressed by peripheral blood granulocytes and bone marrow cells.
