      • Overview
        • This cell source is a cell isolated from the umbilical vein of a full-term fetus, and they can be cultured in vitro. The blood vessels passing through the urinal membrane in the umbilical cord are umbilical artery and umbilical vein, and the blood vessels of yolk sac are umbilical mesenteric artery and umbilical mesenteric vein. Vascular smooth muscle is the cellular basis of many major vascular diseases. The abnormal growth potential of vascular smooth muscle cells plays a decisive role in the development of vascular diseases. Because umbilical cord is a waste during childbirth, and the method of separating human umbilical vein smooth muscle cells from umbilical cord is relatively mature, the umbilical vein smooth muscle cells cultured in vitro are used as model cells for studying blood vessels.
