      • Overview
        • The liver is an important organ in the human body, composed of liver parenchymal cells (hepatocytes) and non parenchymal cells (NPCs), and is the first line of defense against the external environment. In recent years, more and more studies have shown that NPCs play an important role in liver pathology and drug metabolism. NPCs include liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), Kuppfer cells, and dendritic cells. Among them, LSECs account for about 70% of NPCs, which are rich in fenestras and lack of an intact subendothelial basement membrane, making them the most permeable endothelial cells in mammals. LSECs participate in the pathological processes of most liver diseases and have important regulatory roles in the occurrence and development of liver diseases. Liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) are the highest proportion of non parenchymal cells in the liver. Their fenestral structure and high endocytosis clearance ability play an indispensable role in the physiological and pathological processes of the liver. LSECs are mainly involved in regulating liver pathological processes such as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFL), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), liver regeneration, and liver fibrosis by playing roles in anti-inflammatory, endocytosis, secretion of angiogenic signaling molecules, and maintenance of HSCs phenotype. Cells derived from normal human tissue, frozen in P3 passage, cultured using ECGM medium, more than maintain a 10 double increase.
