Hainanmycin Sodium is a polyether antiibiotic derived from Streptomyces padanus var. dangfangeusls from the soil of Hainan Island in China, hence the name. It exerts its anticoccidial effect against many species causing avian coccidiosis. Despite being widely used, few publications are available. It can be used in food safety applications to detect antibacterial residues.

Background
Hainanmycin Sodium has a monoacid polyether structure. It has anti-insect, anti-bacterial and growth-promoting role. It interferes with the biofilm, competing with coccidia and forming a complex with sodium and potassium.
