Background
Penicillamine is an exogenous NOS regulator and an anti-rheumatic and chelating agent for Wilson's disease. Used as anti-rheumatic drugs and chelating agents in hepatolenticular degeneration. Used as a copper chelating agent to form mixed disulfides with cysteine or other sulfide media components. Used for inactivation of protein-1 DNA binding, inhibiting the growth of rabbit articular chondrocytes in asynchronous culture.
