DM1 (mertansine) is a thiol-containing derivative of maytansine. It binds to tubulin and inhibits the assembly of microtubules. DM1 is used to prepare ADCs (antibody-drug conjugates), such as trastuzumab emtansine (abbreviated as T-DM1). This BSA-DM1 conjugate is designed with similar linker chemistry as T-DM1 and is synthesized for our customers' usage in immunization or immunoassay. Maleimide functional groups are first introduced to the BSA followed by a reaction of the maleimide group with the thiol of DM1 to form the BSA-DM1 conjugate.
The final conjugate is lyophilized from phosphate buffered saline containing sugar-based stabilizer for easy shipping and storage.
The product is sold as either 1 vial of 1 mg (Cat# CM52110-1MG) or 5 vials of 1 mg (Cat# CM52110-5MG).
