Kidney-specific cadherin (Ksp-cadherin) is a member of the cadherin family of cell adhesion moleculesthat is found exclusively in the basolateral membrane of renal tubular epithelial cells of the distaltubules and collecting duct. Ksp-cadherin may be useful in distinguishing between renal neoplasms ofdistal nephron origin from those of proximal tubule origin.
