CD11c is an adhesion receptor of the leukocyte function-associated family of molecules. Reportedly CD11c is expressed in hairy cell leukemia whereas the majority of other small B-cell lymphomas do notexpress CD11c antigen. This indicates that immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed biopsieswith anti-CD11c can be useful for identification of hairy cell leukemia.
