Amino-dPEG®6-t-butyl ester product number 10061, is a single molecular weight, discrete length polyethylene glycol (dPEG®) crosslinker. The primary amine group on one end of the crosslinker reacts with carboxylic acids to form stable amide bonds. A tert-butyl ester group on the opposite end of the linker protects the amine-reactive carboxylic acid end of the molecule. Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) effectively removes the protecting group, leaving the propionic acid moiety ready for further reaction.
What's different about dPEG® products?
Ourmonodisperse dPEG® products provide all the benefits of traditional PEGylation reagents. However, our dPEG® products are distinctly different from conventional PEGylation reagents in one critical aspect: our products have no dispersity. In contrast, typical PEGylation reagents are disperse polymers consisting of intractably complex mixtures of different PEG chain lengths and molecular weights. Disperse polymers are challenging to analyze and characterize.
OurdPEG® products consist of a single, discrete chain length and molecular weight of PEG. The analytical challenges of dispersed, polymeric PEG disappear, but the benefits of traditional PEGylation reagents remain. Please contact us at for specific academic pricing.
