2-Naphthoxyacetic Acid (BNOA) is a synthetic auxin, a plant growth regulator used for control of preharvest fruit drop and root proliferation promotion. The compound inhibits auxin influx, and it can be used to regulate growth of many crop plants. It was first mentioned in 1938 by Irvine.
