Z-Endoxifen is the active metabolite of tamoxifen (FT32122, BT164438, FT27994) that acts as an inhibitor of the enzyme aromatase and as inhibitor of the binding of estradiol to estrogen receptors. As an antitumour agent, Z-endoxifen has shown that it has the potential to treat endocrine-resistant estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancers. Endoxifen is the most effective non-competitive inhibitor of aromatase by conferring molecular rigidity upon binding.
