Tos-PEG3-methyl ester is a PEG derivative with tosyl and methyl ester moieties. The tosyl group is a very good leaving group for nucleophilic substitution reactions. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the water solubility of the compound. Methyl ester can be hydrolyzed under strong basic condition.
