Neural stem cells are usually grown in the form of nerve balls suspended in serum-free or low-serum medium, while bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, adult pluripotent progenitor cells and umbilical cord blood cells derived from the blood system need to be induced to differentiate into neural stem cells. Growth factors such as N2, NGF and a small amount of stimulating hormones are added to the stem cell neural differentiation medium to promote cell differentiation.
