Spermidine trihydrochloride is a polyamine that is involved in growth, development, and the stress response in plants via stimulation of T4 polynucleotide kinase activity. It inhibits neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) and binds and precipitates DNA. Hence. It may use to purify DNA binding proteins. It is also a plant growth regulator, and promoting somatic embryogenesis.
