      • Overview
        • The product is the core raw material for nucleic acid extraction after strict screening and quality control. Sodium dodecyl sarcosine (sarkosyl or sarcosyl), also known as sodium lauroyl sarcosine, is an an ionic surfactant. It has amphiphilic, both hydrophobic 14 carbon chain (lauryl) and hydrophilic carboxyl group. The nitrogen atom of amide bond has no pH activity and remains neutral without being affected by pH change. Sarkosyl has been widely used in experimental research due to its good water solubility, high foam stability and strong adsorption capacity to protein. As a detergent, sarkosyl can penetrate and lyse cells. Unlike sodium dodecyl sulfate, sodium dodecyl sarcosine can be dissolved in solutions containing guanidine hydrochloride and guanidine isothiocyanate. This characteristic makes sarkosyl commonly used in RNA extraction applications, such as improving the performance of Trizol reagent.
