Sclerostin (SOST) is a 22.5 kD secreted glycoprotein produced in osteocytes and is considered a highly specific biomarker for bone. SOST inhibits osteoblast activity via antagonism of the Wnt Signaling pathway and plays a key role in the regulation of bone formation.
SOST levels are of interest in many research fields including bone metabolic diseases, multiple myeloma, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, and chronic inflammation. For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Please contact us at for specific academic pricing.
