The Osteopontin ELISA is for the quantification of osteopontin in human plasma and urine.
Osteopontin is a member of the SIBLING (Small Integrin-Binding Ligand N-linked Glycoprotein) family. It is 300 amino acids in length, is expressed in a variety of tissues and can be post-translationally modified. The full-length protein is detectable in plasma, urine and breast milk. Serum osteopontin is prone to cleavage during clotting and therefore is not a preferred sample type. Osteopontin plays a role in a number of physiological functions including bone remodeling, immune function, apoptosis and cell signaling. Studied across a range of therapeutic areas, there is interest in identifying clinical applications for osteopontin as it relates to cancer, autoimmune disease, bone disease, renal disease, allergy and asthma, among others.
The Osteopontin ELISA is for Research Use Only. Please contact us at for specific academic pricing.
