Ro/SS-A is a ribonucleoprotein particle (RNP) that is suggested to be involved in RNA quality control and the cellular stress response to UV irradiation. It is composed of uridine-rich cytoplasmic (hY) RNAs and at least four different proteins including Ro/SS-A (52 kDa), which is also known as TRIM21.
