      • Overview
        • Physical Form: Mass spectrometry-grade rLys-C protease is provided as a lyophilized powder containing 0.5 mg trehalose per vial.
Reconstitution Solution: rLys-C protease reconstitution buffer — recommended to use 1 mM HCl or 50 mM acetic acid.
pH Range: rLys-C exhibits optimal activity at pH 8–9.
Application: rLys-C protease specifically hydrolyzes denatured proteins at lysine (K) residues that are less susceptible to digestion. Co-digestion with trypsin is recommended.

          Recommended SOP:
          General solution digestion method
Use a mixture of 100 µg trypsin and 20 µg rLys-C at a protein-to-enzyme ratio of 25:1 (w/w), incubate at 37°C for 13–16 hours overnight.

          Cleavage Sites: K

      • Applications
        • Application Description
Mass Spectrometry-grade rLys-C Protease specifically hydrolyzes peptide bonds at the C-terminus of lysine (K) residues. It can be used to enhance digestion of proteins that are difficult to cleave and is recommended to be performed in 6–8 M urea solution.
